Information Minister: Communal Harmony Must Be Maintained, Even at the Cost of Blood

Information and Broadcasting Minister Zahir Uddin Swapan stated that communal harmony must be maintained, even at the cost of blood. He made this remark on Friday (July 17) afternoon at the Shaheed Shafiur Rahman Auditorium of the Supreme Court Bar Association, during a commemorative meeting organized to mark the appearance and demise day of Mahatma Bhegai Halder.

The Information and Broadcasting Minister further added, “Those who speak of a single religion, those who speak of a single culture, do not understand the laws of nature.”

During the event, the Information Minister also pledged various development projects for his parliamentary constituency. He assured the preservation, nationalization, and establishment of modern temples at sites associated with Bhegai Halder’s memory. Later, the Information Minister presented mementos of honor to meritorious students from Agailjhara Upazila in Barishal.
